Kitchen Mastery: Knife Skills, Vegetable Butchery & Home Cooking

Cooking is a vast world to explore, a language to learn, and a skill that allows us to eat delicious, nutritious food more economically. Are you ready to master some basics and get a solid foundation in home cooking. In this dinner and a class, you will learn knife skills, classic cooking techniques, and flavor development as we cook a local seasonal dinner.  Come make dinner in community while learning the foundations to good cooking and eating well.

Description

Are you ready to master some basics and get a solid foundation in home cooking? In this dinner class, you will learn and put knife skills to as we prepare a harvest dinner to share. We’ll cover everything you need to know and get hands on practice as we chop a small hill of veggies, practicing different cuts and building up muscle memory.  Then we’ll toss those veggies into a salad, make a soup and a main dish to share.  Along the way, we’ll be discussing cooking techniques, recipes and menu planning. You will leave the class armed with knife skills, classic recipes, and cooking techniques, ready to host your next dinner party. Come make dinner in community while learning these skills.

Learn the foundations to good cooking hands on
This class is a lesson, a get together, and a feast all in one.  We will be immersed in the fundamental skills and techniques that form the foundation of good cooking while also cooking a local, seasonal dinner together  to share.

Practice the cooking skills of a restaurant chef

We will chop, sauté, and taste our way through the how to of building nutrition and flavor with traditional cooking methods that have been handed down through the ages.  Cooking is a vast world to explore, a language to learn, and a skill that let’s you eat delicious, nutritious food more economically. Simultaneously, it awards  you with the flexibility to take the flavors of the season and turn them into the food you want to eat.
