Introduction to Natural Beekeeping with the Warre Hive

Small scale beekeeping  is a great way to practice animal husbandry, produce some local honey and stay in tune with seasonal cycles. In this course you will learn to keep bees with the Warre Hive System, a easy hands-off style of beekeeping that promotes the health and exuberance of the honeybee by mimicking their natural preferences. We will learn about life cycles and biology, management strategies and equipment needed to get started as a small scale beekeeper with the Warre Hive..  After an introduction to this amazing organism, we will learn how to procure bees and beehive and other essential equipment.  We’ll earn about honey harvesting with the Warre System, Treatment Free beekeeping and also touch on Colony Collapse Disorder.
